JOHOR ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar is the latest Sultan to call for political stability after the 15th General Election (GE15).
He expressed concern that until today, five months after the GE15, the 222 MPs were not on the same page with regard to the necessity of political stability in the country.
“Enough is enough. How long must the 30 million people in our country endure this situation? The economy must recover, and Malaysia’s prosperity must be prioritised,” penned Sultan Ibrahim on Facebook.

The Johor Sultan said that efforts to derail stability are not healthy for the entire nation, whether socially, economically or even our standing internationally.
I call on Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang to declare that Bersatu and PAS would heed several reminders by the Yang di Pertuan Agong (YDPA) and the Sultans of various states to politicians from all political parties to ensure political stability in the country.
And likewise, that they would not be involved in any plot to topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s unity government for the next five years.
This was the message of the YDPA in his Royal Address opening the 15th Parliament in February, but it went unheeded for the last three months.
This is a test of whether political leaders and politicians are prepared to subordinate their personal interests and those of their political parties to national interests. — May 4, 2023
