THE Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has been directed to take action in relation to the online resale of Coldplay concert tickets in November. This comes after commercials on social media offered tickets for as much as RM43,000.
Communication and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil referred to this sum as “too much” and advised Malaysians to get tickets for the British band’s concert from reputable vendors rather than falling for scammers.
Fahmi previously stated that he would speak with Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub about the problem of scalpers reselling Coldplay concert tickets.
The Lembah Pantai MP shared a screenshot of a news article that claimed that scalpers were being sold tickets for RM43,000, which was a significant premium above the original price.
