OFFENDED by comments from former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin accusing him of attacking the judiciary, former minister in the prime minister’s department Datuk Zaid Ibrahim said he will ruin the former UMNO member’s bid to become PM in the future.
Khairy accused UMNO Supreme Council (MKT) members Datuk Isham Jalil and Zaid of being individuals who disputed, belittled and attacked the judiciary.
Khairy added that Zaid described UMNO as not serious about demanding a pardon for former PM Datuk Seri Najib Razak and did not make any effort to convince the public about the royal pardon.
“For me, this is an attack on the judiciary. When the PM states that this is not a problem, the story ends there. Why should there be continuous attacks on our country’s judicial institutions, disputing, belittling our judiciary?,” he said on the Keluar Sekejap podcast show on Friday (June 23).
In response to Khairy, Zaid posted a tweet saying:
KJ in his latest podcast described me in the most unfavourable terms. He has made a mistake. By doing this I will expose him to be shallow and unfit to be PM of the future

Yesterday (June 24), Zaid defended UMNO against the statement made by Tony Pua.
On Twitter, he wrote:
If Umno has any self-respect left it should just leave this govt. Let the super clean corrupt-free DAP / Tony Pua take care of PH

He also urged the unity government headed by PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to ‘free the fallen Najib whom he said will be able to unify the government and bring Malay support in the state elections. – June 25, 2023
