Amirudin pledges to honour five election promises in first 100 days upon victory

IN anticipation of the upcoming state elections, caretaker Selangor menteri besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has outlined an ambitious agenda, committing to the implementation of five key election promises within the initial 100 days, provided the coalition government secures another state mandate.

Addressing the public in a special speech on the eve of the six state elections, Amirudin shared the specific pledges enumerated in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto:

  1. An annual incentive of RM1,000 for 5,000 working mothers to ease their financial burden of paying for education and nurseries for their children
  2. Exemption of assessment fees (cukai pintu) for kampung houses and low-cost housing
  3. Book vouchers worth RM200 for 1,000 college students
  4. Increase in the monthly allowances for mosque committee leaders (imam, bilal, siak, and nazir)
  5. Incentive of RM1,000 to farmers in the state to cover their expenses including seeds, fertiliser, and pesticides.

A vision for progress

In discussing this comprehensive plan, Amirudin emphasised that the announcement did not stem from arrogance or overconfidence within the PH coalition but rather from a belief in the discernment of the people of Selangor.

“We realise that to elevate the status of Selangor and its people to a higher level, there needs to be an efficient government with a proven track record,” he said.

He also urged voters to cast their ballots for PH and BN candidates for their own and their children’s sakes.

“The coalition you have voted for has shown excellent performance in the last five years. Every vote is precious,” Amirudin remarked during the speech telecast live on Astro Awani’s YouTube page and his official Facebook page. – Aug 11, 2023
