Well, I’m looking forward to my days in Court,” he said..On Jan 23, Naimah was charged in accordance with Section 36(2) of the MACC Act 2009 for failing to declare 12 assets belonging to her. A day later, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki informed that his party had received permission to prosecute Daim.

Naimah entered a plea of not guilty to the charges, asserting in a media statement that she is innocent and has not engaged in any wrongdoing or criminal activities. She also claimed that the prosecution targeting her and her husband amounted to a type of political persecution. The MACC however, could not proceed with Daim’s charges after he was hospitalised around the second week of January. Daim was released from the hospital yesterday. The offence carries a prison sentence of not more than five years and a maximum fine of RM100,000 if convicted. – Jan 27, 2023
