BUYING a property is a heavy undertaking which can saddle buyers with loans for many years. It would be a grave mistake to buy a house in a flood prone locale for the dream home would eventually be a living hell to its owner.
This was the sound advice proffered by Akram Noor TTPD (@silly_boney) who shared his experiences of being on development sites amid extreme weather conditions that can trigger severe flooding.

Those buying for investment purposes will need to be extra vigilant as the poster who hold a major in real estate from University of Sheffield warned against acquiring properties in areas prone to natural disasters.
Given that property owners will see their funds disappear into a black hole, Akram urged potential investors to seek professional opinions before signing on the dotted line.
He went on to provide an extensive list of flood prone areas in Selangor as identified by the Selangor state legislative assembly.
Quite a few netizens chipped in with areas they also saw as being flood prone.
The important thing to note is that this simple advice to do due diligence can help property buyers avoid much heartache and save a ton of money. Furthermore, with the property market still finding its feet post-pandemic, there are options out there to suit various budgets.
Doubtlessly, it is a buyer’s market out there with good deals to be found. But as the poster stressed the need to also invest the time to make sure one is not duped into buying a worthless property.
