MMA organises free health screening for the public on Doctors’ Day

AS PART of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) is organising a free health screening on Doctors’ Day this Saturday (Oct 12) from 9am – 3pm at MMA House, Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur.

Doctors’ Day, celebrated on Oct 10 in many countries, is a day to remember the contribution of doctors to the lives of individuals and communities.

The health screening organised by MMA will include vital signs and blood sugar testing, breast examination/ultrasound, lipid profile and HbA1c and heart health check-up (ECG).

Other activities include Peka B40 status verification, Blood donation, CPR Demonstration and a lucky draw.

“On behalf of MMA, I am happy to invite the public to join us this Saturday, Oct 12, for a special event to mark Doctors’ Day at MMA House in Kuala Lumpur,” noted the association’s president Datuk Dr Kalwinder Singh Khaira.

“These screenings, which include tests like blood sugar, lipid profile, and electrocardiography, are invaluable in helping individuals understand their health status.

“With early detection, many conditions can be treated effectively, preventing more serious complications later on.”

Dr Kalwinder said the initiative is part of MMA’s mission to ensure that healthcare is accessible to all, especially the underserved.

“We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity, not just for themselves but also for their loved ones. Together, we can build a healthier, stronger community, and we look forward to welcoming you this Saturday,” he added.
