PEOPLE who like to create illegal valet parking at their flat better be careful because DBKL is coming down with a vengeance.
In a recent post, DBKL on their X platform showed their officers on the ground at Wangsa Maju, removing the items used to create the illegal parking spots.

As a result of the operation, a total of six compound notices were issued under the Roads, Drains and Buildings Act 1974 and some items used to block parking spaces were confiscated.
The post has since spurred many netizens to come and make further complaints about other areas experiencing a similar problem.
However, some netizens expressed skepticism on whether such actions would bring a lasting impact.
Netizen Whoaml? said the people will continue to do it after today’s operation. If one possesses a bad mentality, no action can solve the problem.
Netizen m suggested that DBKL officers disguise themselves and try to park at these spots. When the person who makes an illegal claim on these spots arrives, the summon can then be issued.
Another netizen suggested that they could place cameras in the area so the behaviour of these ugly Malaysians can be seen.
More than just a social problem, this is also an indication of bad town planning which results in the lack of parking spaces for all.
However, the rules are still the rules and people who have a predilection of making illegal reserved parking spaces should stop their acts.
Either that or the penalty can be raised so they may feel the sting. – Oct 14, 2024
