Disabled lady benefits from automated vending machine granted by IPR programme

ANY effort to bridge the gap between the rich and poor should be applauded no matter how small it is.

But it appears the Insentif Pendapatan Rakyat (IPR) is making quite a stride in helping out the B40 category as claimed by a video shared by netizen Roman Akramovich.

In the video, a beneficiary of the programme, 37 year old Normaladiana Mohd Yazal said she had benefited from the automated selling machine provided in the programme.

She uses it to sell sandwiches, cake, spaghetti and snacks at KL Sentral. There was no mention of the profit she received but she claimed that it has made her life easier.

On a separate note, netizen Roman Akramovich reminded netizens about the time when Perikatan Nasional elections director Muhammad Sanusi Mohd Noor belittled the idea.

“Now not even a single one of all the mega projects that he was daydreaming about happened. But when it comes to laughing at people, he is the number one,” he said.

Adding to it is netizen Prtzl who said Sanusi belittles the ideas of others but he himself lacks any. His only idea is on how to increase the number of wives.

The automated selling machine was a good complement to Normaladiana since she had a physical disability from a young age.

Many netizens applauded the initiative, remarking that it was a move in the right direction.

However, some remained sceptical, such as netizen ABAS who asked for statistics and data.

“How many have left the poor category compared to before? What was the increase in percentage? What was the amount of money placed in compared to the result, which is needed to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the government spending?” he said.

Also, Netizen lu ke ke pointed out that food hygiene may be of concern since it was made by people of the B40 category.

We think this is rather inappropriate as people from the B40 category need not necessarily be dirty.

“How many citizens can join the programme? If only 10, then you might as well keep it, especially if they are going to pick people of the same feather,” said one netizen.

Netizen Roman Akramovich replied that the programme had over 99506 participants.

The Minister Of Economy Rafizi Ramli was further reported saying that out of the total, 42,770 applicants were registered under Inisiatif Usahawan Makanan (INSAN), 27,314 with Inisiatif Usahawan Tani (INTAN) and 29,422 more under Inisiatif Operator Perkhidmatan (IKHSAN).

He said that under the programme INTAN, a total of 1,135 participants have been approved for the implementation of the programme in 16 locations covering an area of 274 hectares, with a total cost amounting to RM98 million. – Oct 15, 2024
