Philippines fire: Blaze tears through hundreds of homes in Manila

Hundreds of homes have been destroyed by a fire in the Philippine capital Manila. The blaze swept through the harbourside suburb of Tondo, hampering firefighters’ attempts to reach burning properties. The homes have little resistance to fire as they’re often made of wood and tin.
