MADANI government backers had a field day yesterday (Dec 4) poking fun at Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Muhammad who was slapped with legal damages totalling RM825,000 after losing a defamation suit to DAP’s trio of Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng and Teresa Kok.
This is over the first-term PAS lawmaker’s unfounded claims linking DAP’s retired supremo Lim Kit Siang, the party’s chairman Lim Guan Eng and its vice-chairman Teresa Kok who is also the Seputeh MP to the late Communist Party of Malaya leader Chin Peng.
According to the DAP leaders’ counsel Sankara Nair, judge Datuk Quay Chew Soon ordered Siti Mastura to pay a total of RM750,000 in damages with a breakdown of RM300,000 to Kit Siang, Guan Eng (RM250,000) and Kok (RM200,000).
The judge further imposed a 5% annual interest if the deputy head of the Penang State PAS Muslim Council failed to pay her dues in addition to ordering her to pay costs of RM25,000 each to the three DAP leaders.
“Mastura, the Kepala Batas MP is actually a clever person. She holds a PhD (from Universiti Sains Malaysia) and studied at the Al-Azhar University in Egypt (where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Shariah),” penned pro-Pakatan Harapan (PH) social media influencer Roman Akramovich (@SyedAkramin) on his X account.

“But when she joined PAS, she became stupid, evil and slanderous. Today she lost the suit for slandering others and have to pay more than RM800k to victims of her slander.”
Staunch Madani supporter Hakim H (@khaylahaiqa) stated in his social media post that “one will not always be safe by simply opening the mouth to slander others for (political) victory” and that Siti Mastura’s action has tarnished the image of Islam itself.

“When you get used to slander, then apologise, not everyone is forgiving. You can get away by slandering PMX (Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) and Saifuddin (Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail) because they are forgiving and didn’t take action.
“But others may not. Sister, there’s punishment in this world, likewise, there’s also punishment in the afterlife.”
Another PH keyboard warrior JOKER🔺(@tjerealjoker) was more sarcastic as he gave a shout-out to all PAS supporters “to donate as much and as sincerely as you can” to enable Siti Mastura to pay for the legal damages that she had inflicted.

To sum up, University of Tasmania Asian Studies inaugural director and political commentator Prof James Chin reckoned that instead of being RM825,000 poorer, Siti Mastura would emerge politically stronger as a result of losing the lawsuit. Below is his rationale:
She was never going to win because of the undisputed facts, namely, that these persons (the DAP trio) were unrelated to Chin Peng.
So, why was she fighting? Simple: she needed to prove to Moon people (Chin’s slang for PAS supporters) that DAP was communist. “Communist” is a code phrase among Moon people that denotes anti-Islam and anti-religion.
In Moon people’s alternate reality, she is a fighter who defends Islam.
Will this prevent Moon folks from making more accusations that Rocket (DAP) is anti-Islam and anti-Malays? No, it won’t. Moon voters have been misled into believing that all Chinese are enemies of Islam and Malaysia.
She would become politically stronger with Moon voters as a result of this lawsuit because she will spin that she lost the case because Malaysian law is secular and if Malaysia was an Islamic state, she will win.
This is the crazy world of political Islam in Malaysia. I kid you not.
