IN A lengthy Facebook post, PAS Information Chief and Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari addressed the Amanah Youth Wing.
He remarked that their actions seem solely centered on defending DAP, questioning what else they would focus on if not for this.
The Member of Parliament for Pasir Mas also expressed disappointment with Pemuda AMANAH’s actions, criticising their use of an unprofessional photo of him and their attempt to link the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) to a rally issue.
“Personally, I am deeply disappointed with Pemuda AMANAH’s approach. My primary regret is the choice of an inappropriate photo. If they wanted to use my picture, they should have chosen one that is proper and taken in a prepared setting—not a candid expression like the one they used,” he said.
“It was unprofessional and made my face look “less handsome,” although I admit that none of my photos are particularly “handsome.” But at the very least, a professional photo would have sufficed. This is my main regret,” he added.
“My second regret is the attempt to link the name of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) to this issue. It is clear that nowhere in His Majesty’s decree was there a prohibition against the January 6 gathering. The party that was most worried and critical of UMNO’s collaboration with PAS was Lim Guan Eng,” he said.
In essence, he is accusing UMNO of misinterpreting the decree while under pressure from Lim Guan Eng.
While Pemuda UMNO supports attending the rally, UMNO leadership’s stance differs. Fadhli refuted allegations of insulting the monarchy, stating he is willing to cooperate with investigations.
“Thus, it is clear that YDPA is not related to my post. Nevertheless, as a Malaysian citizen, Pemuda AMANAH has the right to lodge a police report, and as a fellow citizen, I am prepared to be investigated as part of Malaysia’s justice process.”
Despite legal advice to sue Pemuda AMANAH, he hesitates due to past ties, awaiting further developments. —Jan 5, 2025
