KUALA LUMPUR: Eversendai Corporation Bhd has been awarded RM490.1 mil worth of projects in Morocco, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, pushing its construction order book to a near all-time high of RM2.69 bil.
The newly secured contracts include a 55-storey luxurious commercial tower project in Morocco and two commercial towers in the heart of the Lusail City Financial District development in Doha, Qatar.
“The construction industry in Qatar is expected to benefit from investments made in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Qatar National Vision 2030,” the group said in a statement today.
In Saudi Arabia, Eversendai has won a contract to build a facility control centre and an administrative building for a metro station, it said, adding that the kingdom’s economy appears to be the most vibrant in the Middle East’s construction sector.
“Our entry into North Africa is another testament of sustaining our fundamental values and capitalising on long-established client relationships in delivering projects without compromise.
“We remain optimistic in the regions where we operate with many new opportunities in the pipeline,” executive chairman and group managing director Tan Sri A K Nathan said. – March 11, 2020, Bernama
