Here’s how to make a delicious Ais Kosong for Ramadhan

WHAT could be more delicious than plain water? Doctors know best. Previously a doctor replied to celebrity influencer Khairul Aming who suggested some sweet drinks for “buka puasa,” stating that she preferred plain water.

In reply to her reply, a netizen cheekily made a video suggesting how to make a delicious plain water drink, aka Ais Kosong.

The technique involves slicing and dicing ice, pounding ice with a pestle, and even putting ice cubes in an oven. The output was then poured into a jug, and stirred to complete the Ais Kosong drink.

Lastly, the person in the video hilariously said that the Ais Kosong tasted like “Kosong.”

“Even this makes me salivate,” said netizen meon jokingly in the comment section while another said that during Raya later, it would also be Kosong, Kosong.

Paaan. added that ice was not good for health either but he was willing to overlook it since the ice was used for engagement purposes.

Perhaps in reply to Paaan. another netizen said that if ice water is bad for health, then people will keep quiet if told to drink rain water.

“When you need to cut your leg later and require a recipe for a medicine, don’t go looking for a doctor,” said Shafiq Nordin.

Here is also an interesting idea from SY3D4MIR who inquired if there was anyone who can make 30 recipe for making water for the 30 days of fasting, at the same time tagging the poor doctor.

Several netizens further pointed out the sting of insult in the video.

On a separate note, we would like to play the devil’s advocate and state some of the benefits of plain water.

Besides the very obvious reason to hydrate one’s self, regular water consumption also lubricates joints, reducing the risk of joint pain and enhancing overall physical performance.

Further on, it promotes healthy skin by keeping it moisturised and reducing the appearance of dryness.

Additionally, drinking water can help improve focus and energy levels, preventing fatigue. It supports weight management by acting as an appetite suppressant and boosting metabolism.

Yes, our dear doctor does have a point. But then, Air Kosong during such a colourful period such as Hari Raya would mean Kosong, Kosong, as plainly stated by a netizen. —Mar 5, 2025
