RAUB MP Chow Yu Hui, also an advisor to the Save Musang King Alliance (SAMKA), is among five individuals summoned to assist in a police investigation for obstructing public servants during an enforcement operation targeting illegal durian orchards in Raub.
Raub Police Chief Mohd Shahril Abd Rahman stated that Chow will be called soon to aid the probe under Section 186 of the Penal Code.
Three police reports were filed by the Pahang State Enforcement Unit, police, and an NGO regarding the operation. The enforcement action against the durian orchards will continue as planned.
Media reports noted that farmers had blocked access with banners to protest the destruction of their decades-old crops, but the situation was controlled without incident.
The Pahang government denied breaching any court order, despite claims related to the felling of approximately 200 Musang King durian trees in Sungai Klau on April 8.
Meanwhile, Dato’ Jasri Jamaludin, a Pahang state assemblyman, condemned Chow Yu Hui for supporting illegal durian farmers and leading a protest on April 10, 2025, to block enforcement actions in Bukit Klau, Raub.
Jasri described Chow’s actions as rebellion against the Sultan of Pahang’s decree and a violation of legal sovereignty, accusing him of undermining a High Court ruling and disrespecting the royal institution.
He highlighted that the protest, involving over 50 people, aimed to stop authorities from demolishing illegal durian orchards, which he said profited millions by encroaching on government land. —Apr 13, 2025
