WE’VE all seen it before: Restless and impatient souls at traffic lights, either wanting to move before its turns green or speeding up as the lights turn yellow. Or worse, ignoring them completely.
This was likely the case in a road accident reported on X by Malaysia Problem (@Malaysia_Problm), which had the unfortunate consequence of a fatality. This is in addition to a motorcyclist losing a limb while another was hospitalised with serious injuries.

The poster sympathised with the already over worked healthcare workers at hospitals as well as the driver of the Perodua Axia. Instead of going home to rest, the driver has to lodge a police report.
The fatal accident was confirmed in NST as taking place at the traffic lights near Kampung Raja Uda, Klang on April 20.
South Klang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ramli Kasa said the 22-year-old local man was confirmed dead at the scene while two other victims, aged 22 and 16, suffered serious injuries to their bodies and legs.
He said local motorcyclists who survived the incident with injuries were taken to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for treatment but the driver of the car escaped the accident unharmed.
“The incident at around 4.10am this morning is believed to have occurred when the car, which was moving from the direction of Port Klang towards Jalan Kim Chuan, had approached the Kampung Raja Uda intersection and turned right because the traffic light was green.
“While the car was turning at the intersection, a group of motorcyclists who were travelling from Klang towards Port Klang did not stop when the traffic light had turned red and as a result crashed into the car,” he said in a statement.
Netizens had plenty to say about reckless motorists.
One commenter claimed that traffic lights near his house resembled starting grid for a bike race every weekend. Police reports were of little or no avail.
A pertinent question that affects all road users was posed—does the car involved in such accidents stop to help or proceed directly to police station to make a report?
One netizen though had some very choice words for the motorcyclists who were perceived to be mat rempits (illegal racers). They do nothing but bring shame onto the community, he angrily declared.
The problem of road users ignoring traffic lights was also highlighted by one netizen. Pre-empting the change to green can lead to fatalities. Be patient and just wait a further five seconds for the traffic lights to turn green.
The video that has gone viral is not very clear but it does appear that the motorcyclists were racing.
Whether they were engaged in such reckless behaviour is on top of the fact they completely ignored the traffic lights.
This time, those who were injured or killed were the reckless motorcyclist themselves. Don’t let such behaviour claim innocent lives as has happened many a-time before.
Will the authorities take action or just let it slide as just another road mishap? – April 24, 2025
