Siti Kasim: What happens to Pamela Ling can happen to you and I, Malaysians must push cops for answer

AMID a fishy chain of events whereby 1+1 doesn’t add up to 2 in the disappearance of Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh, Siti Kasim wants Malaysians to practise utmost caution in the event they are summoned for questioning by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

In the same instance, the “very concerned” human rights activist and lawyer is equally flabbergasted at the cops for being clueless given Ling’s Grab driver had claimed in his police report that his passenger was abducted by two individuals – a man and woman – donning the “PDRM vest”.

“We’re living in 2025, not an age without camera or digital print … Malaysians must be very concerned because a precedent has been set whereby people involved in MACC probe regardless if they’re the complainant or placed under investigation can suddenly disappear,” she fumed in her latest YouTube rant.

“This is no joke … We want the government to get to the bottom of the issue (fast). Till today, there has been no resolution on Pastor Raymond Koh and social activist Amri Che Mat case either.

“Where are our politicians? We need to make a lot of noises until our government say something or get the cops to pursue a transparent probe into the matter … This is very terrible for it can happen to anyone of us.”

The lawyer in Siti Kasim also lambasted at the police for their “deafening silence” on their matter prior to Ling’s family issuing a media statement appealing to the public for any information on her whereabouts on May 2.

“The Grab driver has lodged the police report on the same day (April 9) immediately after Pamela’s abduction (while on her way to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to facilitate an investigation on a money laundering case) while her lawyer has also done likewise on the same evening,” traced the Orang Asli advocate.

“Then on April 11, Ling’s estranged husband (Sarawakian businessman Datuk Seri Thomas Hah Tiing Siu) also lodged a police report followed by one of her siblings on April 16.

“Since then, there was no news whatsoever from the police … No update which is so typical of my personal car bomb case (in July 2023) where I’m still put me in the dark as to who is the culprit even if my life is threatened.”

“This is not a simple theft but this woman has disappeared for almost one month without a trace or proper update especially when “there’re CCTV cameras everywhere especially in Putrajaya”.

According to Bernama, no ransom has been demanded with the authorities having recorded statements from 12 witnesses – family members, MACC officers and the victim’s lawyer – to assist in the investigation.

The latest police lead is that of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain who told Beita Harian yesterday (May 5) that the police is currently probing whether Ling was taken away by policemen or “individuals impersonating the police”.

The big question mark is who actually abducted her and where is she? We really need to get to the bottom of this because the Grab driver’s police report clearly stated that those individuals who took her were in police uniform.

Are they crooks who pretended as police or are they real police? Is Ling still alive or has misfortune already fallen on her?

Malaysians shouldn’t keep quiet on this … Imagine yourself in Ling’s shoes whereby you’ve a case with the authorities and suddenly you disappear and nobody says anything.” – May 6, 2025
