Editor’s note: This letter comes in response to reports of Transport Minister Anthony Loke saying that the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has sent letters to two e-hailing applications to cease their operation effective July 24 as they were found to have violated licensing conditions under the Land Public Transport Act 2010 (Act 715).
WE at Maxim Malaysia would like to share our response regarding the news that was published on Focus Malaysia “Netizens fear e-hailing monopoly after the ban on InDrive and Maxim” and provide a clarification letter about this topic.
We are currently discussing with the relevant authorities how to promptly resolve this while maintaining the goodwill and reputation we have built over the years in order to shed light on this and provide clarity to our users, partners, vendors, and other relevant stakeholders who work closely with Maxim Malaysia.
Now the company continues its operation in Malaysia and provides its available services to people throughout the country.
Maxim Malaysia has made public safety a top concern ever since it began operations in Malaysia about five years ago.
Whenever users utilize the Maxim app to select from the range of services Maxim Malaysia provides in Malaysia, this priority has always made sure that they feel comfortable and secure.
With an intermediate license, Maxim Malaysia provides a unique platform that allows Partner-drivers, the service provider, and our users to connect and get the services they require.
Concurrently, when our Partner-drivers sign up on our app, they undergo a thorough inspection and oversight by our specialized officers, who make sure they have the necessary paperwork to adhere to the e-hailing guidelines set forth by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and the Transport Ministry.
Maxim Malaysia’s stringent inspection procedure is a component of our corporate transparency, which would actually guarantee public safety in general.
Over the years that it has been in operation, Maxim Malaysia has made a substantial contribution to Malaysia’s economy and society.
To make sure that prospective partner drivers who wish to join our platform may quickly obtain a PSV license, we have been collaborating with a number of driving schools around Malaysia.
Additionally, Maxim Malaysia collaborated with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to make sure prospective drivers understood the traffic rules and guidelines governing traffic on Malaysian roadways.
Maxim Malaysia, a major player in the e-hailing sector, has a strong technological platform with OKU features that make it easy for users to obtain customised support.
This demonstrates that Maxim Malaysia consistently supports an inclusive economy and culture in which a variety of service providers may work together to provide stable financial conditions and assistance for their families.
Rest assured, Maxim Malaysia will always follow the law of the land, work closely with the government to settle any concerns, and offer its fullest support.
At the same time, Maxim influences the digital economy and invests in the country in this sphere that also helps Malaysia to develop the IT- technologies in the e-hailing industry. - May 15, 2025
