NOW that Rafizi is out of the picture, all eyes are now on Nurul Izzah, and for all the wrong reasons.
With allegations of nepotism floating about in the air, the princess of reformation has much to prove.
Among them is whether she has what it takes to fill in the big shoes of Rafizi who has fought for PKR for nearly three decades.
But the media and netizens are not going to make it easy for her too. Nurul Izzah yet again drew flak from the online community after she purportedly asked her father to negotiate with the unity government for seats in the Sabah state election.
Zaman @rafiziramli, dia sendiri berunding. Itu tugas dan tanggungjawab Timbalan Presiden.
Kalau nak suruh papa berunding, baik bagi papa je merangkap jawatan Timbalan. 😁 pic.twitter.com/HUSPkj9JRg

“Early on, she already didn’t know what her responsibility is as the vice president,” said a hard hitting netizen by the name of @opie20Ten.
Another netizen said she was very good at talking when campaigning. Now she was asking her daddy to do the negotiation.
The photo comments were equally savage:
“You even need these things to be spoon fed by mummy and daddy, Nurul Izzah?” said @ThatWasMeThen.
“A long time ago Rafizi fought with grandpa Mahathir for the seats in 2018. Nobody dared to cross PKR when Rafizi was there,” said @ipohpandax, adding that PKR now looked weak.
Recently, Nurul Izzah reportedly said the president of PKR now holds the trust of leading the government and is bearing the heavy responsibility of steering the country through an era filled with uncertainty, amidst global power struggles such as the trade war between China and the United States.
Therefore, she said, in this situation, the role of the deputy president becomes even more critical in strengthening the party, ensuring internal governance remains on a solid footing, so that the president can fully focus on the administration of the country.
“One of my first steps is to introduce a universal programme for all branches, a comprehensive initiative aimed at empowering the grassroots machinery,” she said.
“This programme will focus on strategies to increase the number of supporters, effective approaches to engaging the people, as well as the best ways to assist communities in their respective areas,” she added.—May 26, 2025
