PAS man backs ROS complaint on polls

FORMER PKR MP Mohd Imran Abd Hamid has lodged an official complaint with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) on May 29, 2025, seeking to annul the results of PKR’s controversial party elections.

Backing the former MP, PAS assistant secretary-general Khairul Faizi Ahmad Kamil highlighted this action as evidence of a significant loss of confidence in PKR’s election process among its members.

Khairul Faizi noted that unresolved dissatisfaction could escalate further, potentially leading to court action, drawing a parallel to a past UMNO election dispute that resulted in the party being declared illegal.

In his complaint to ROS, former Lumut MP Mohd Imran Abd Hamid also urged ROS to direct the party to hold fresh elections at all levels.

“I urge the re-election at all levels using the old method of one member, one vote. The results must be announced in real-time and displayed on giant screens along with pictures of the contesting candidates.

“I also request ROS to cancel the results of the central election on May 23,” he said.

Imran stated that this issue was particularly prevalent at the branch level, prompting him to file a complaint, along with 190 other complaints submitted by PKR branches nationwide. He represents the Lumut branch. — June 7, 2025
