Video of distraught owner accompanying dying cat brings netizens to tears

AND who said we need to watch the movie Titanic to cry? Those tear-jerking Korean dramas are unnecessary too.

Local production should suffice and it comes in the form of a short video where a man could be seen accompanying his dying cat.

A great number of netizens were touched by the scene, with some even coming forward to share their experience.

“This guy is amazing. His tears do not flow like me,” said @fahmiparidin. @Raphscorp said he has been in that position, and will never forget his cat Upil.

“I am not sure if the cat dies for real on the video, but my cat was similar,” said @KwinggGrengg, adding that his cat meowed many times, from loud to slow, then loud again. Lastly, there was only the sound of the wind and her body became cold.

However, @kepalakoteyyy was unimpressed, saying that the video content was staged.

But do cats really need to suffer as they are nearing the end of their lives? On a separate note, euthanasia is one way for pet owners to give their pets a good, peaceful death.

According to Cornell University, the euthanasia solution is usually a barbiturate, the same class of drugs used for general anesthesia.

At a much higher dose, this solution provides not only the same effects as general anesthesia (loss of consciousness, loss of pain sensation), but suppresses the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

As the solution is injected, the animal loses consciousness and within minutes the heart and lungs stop functioning. Cornell University claims that since the pet is not conscious, they do not feel anything.

Regardless of whether it is painful or not, we are certain every good pet owners out there will feel the loss of their furry companion. —June 24, 2025
