Has Zamri Vinoth displayed political slant by mocking Steven Sim, Rayer, DAP for foiling ‘kuil haram’ protest?

ONE wonders if Muslim convert preacher Zamri Vinoth has inadvertently unveiled his true political affiliation by mocking DAP which has pro-actively been throwing a spanner into his anti-kuil haram (illegal temple) campaign via lodging of police reports or wooing law enforcers to act against him.

Such tendency is most prevalent after the Gerakan Anti-Rumah Anutan Haram (GARAH) co-founder found himself at loggerhead with Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong who sought police intervention to halt a purported public protest in front of the Bukit Mertajam Hospital tomorrow (March 7).

That Sim who happens to be the Bukit Mertajam MP has foiled his demonstration code-named” Ops Terjah” has led to the Angkatan Skuad Mubaligh Malaysia president embarking on a few mocking stunts to embarrass or paint DAP in bad light.

The latest is by ‘submitting’ a DAP membership application under the name “Kuil Haram” while declaring that he was interested in the party because of its “multi-racial nature” whereby “only the Chinese can be the Penang Chief Minister”.

“The party’s president [sic] (supposedly chairman) is merely a puppet even though the Singh (Gobind Singh Deo) obtained the highest number of votes (in the 2025 party polls) … that’s DAP’s type of justice,” he jibed on his Facebook page.

“Indian (MPs) can remain as rabble-rousers to make noise in parliament; if not Indians, who else wants to make noise, right?

“Malays can be international sycophants to preserve national harmony even if they’ve to sacrifice the dignity of religion and the country’s land, right?”

This was when the oft regarded as a staunch disciple of controversial celebrity preacher Zakir Naik showed that his animosity with DAP extends beyond Sim who is also the party’s Penang chairman.

“Long live DAP! Please accept me, I’m Indian too, I’m also good at making noise and I can replace Rayer (Jelutong MP RSN Rayer)!”

For the record, Rayer has in recent times lodged a few police reports against Zamri with the latest report for allegedly uploaded provocative content by “threatening to demolish another Hindu temple in front of the Bukit Mertajam Hospital, Penang on March 7 at 3pm”.

“I call on the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), the Home Minister, the Cabinet and the Prime Minister to act immediately before individuals like Zamri Vinoth trigger another incident that could invite racial tension and cause our country to descend into chaos,” demanded the Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB) chairman.

“If firm and immediate action to arrest, detain and charge Zamri Vinoth is not taken after repeatedly committing religious and racial provocations, then perception and assumption will arise that he’s both immune and receives special treatment or is simply above the law.” – March 6, 2026
