MCO: F&N gets greenlight to continue operating

KUALA LUMPUR: Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) has been granted approval by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and the relevant local authorities to continue operating, albeit with a reduced workforce and operating hours during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

F&N CEO Lim Yew Hoe said as a major dairy and beverage manufacturer in Malaysia, the group was committed to supporting its customers, trade partners and the community as a whole with an adequate supply of core products amidst the uncertainties.

“Together with our raw and packaging material suppliers, we strive to ensure maximum output within the reduced production hours and workforce as stipulated by the authorities during the MCO period.

“Along with a healthy inventory, the group endeavours to ensure continued availability of our core products to consumers during these unprecedented times,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Lim said it was too early to assess the financial impact on the company as the crisis is still unfolding, including in Thailand from which the group derives significant revenue and profit.

“Our primary focus is on the wellbeing of our people while ensuring adequate supply to the market. We will work closely with our trade partners and suppliers to ensure minimal disruption during this period when cash flow is likely to be tight,” he added.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, F&N has been contributing some 3,800 cartons of products worth more than RM100,000 to the frontliners nationwide. – March 31, 2020, Bernama
