TNG e-wallet introduces first Islamic financing product with CIMB

TNG Digital Sdn Bhd has partnered with CIMB to introduce ASB Financing on TNG e-wallet, marking the platform’s first Islamic financing offering.

The new feature enables users to finance investments in Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) through structured monthly repayments rather than relying on a large upfront capital commitment.

According to TNG Digital, the product is aimed at improving access to long-term wealth-building opportunities for Bumiputera investors by simplifying the financing and investment process within a single digital platform.

The financing, provided through CIMB Islamic Bank, is integrated into TNG e-wallet and channels approved financing directly into ASB investments. Users can apply for financing, track their application status and monitor their investments through the app.

TNG Digital chief financial services officer Desmond Teoh said the launch represented an expansion of the financial solutions available through the company’s GOfinance platform.

“As our first Islamic financing offering on TNG e-wallet, this launch marks an important step in broadening the range of financial solutions available within GOfinance,” he said.

Teoh noted that demand for digital investment products had continued to grow among TNG e-wallet users.

He said Bumiputera users currently account for 70% of the platform’s Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) investor base and contribute 52% of total investment value on the platform.

Since the integration of ASNB services into TNG e-wallet in 2023, the company has recorded a 44% year-on-year increase in users actively investing through the platform as of May 2026.

CIMB group consumer banking chief executive officer Haniz Nazlan said the collaboration would help expand access to digital financial services and Islamic financing products.

“We are pleased to collaborate with TNG Digital in driving the next phase of digital financial inclusion,” he remarked.

“Through TNG e-wallet, more Malaysians will have easier access to financial products and services, including investment opportunities and Islamic financing solutions that support their long-term financial goals.”

Under the programme, financing amounts range from RM10,000 to RM200,000, with repayment tenures between five and 40 years.

According to TNG Digital, the addition of ASB Financing expands the range of investment, protection and financial management services available through GOfinance, the financial services hub within TNG e-wallet.

The company said the initiative is intended to make financing and investment services more accessible by allowing users to manage both within a single digital platform. ‒ June 25, 2026
