MADANI backers have apparently ganged up to tick off PAS supremo Tan Sri Hadi Awang for having accused Pakatan Harapan (PH) and especially DAP for inciting Islamophobic sentiments to curtail the Islamist party’s influence of PAS in the country’s political landscape.
The seven-term Marang MP went on to recount emergence of the “green wave” term soon after PAS won the most number of parliamentary seats in the 15th General Election (GE15) in addition to controlling four states and again repeated such feat with increasing number of state polls in the ensuing six state polls in July 2023.
“Glimpses of Islamophobia are now beginning to appear in Malaysia through the voice brought by DAP which dominates PH,” he claimed in his regular “Minda Presiden PAS” rant on his Facebook page.
DAP is in collusion with Malay PH coalition allies who partake misleading political direction with an Islamic branding such as PKR and Amanah as well as some UMNO quarters who hitch-ride and piggy-back on it.
They’ve joined forces to wrest control of the Federal government and capture Malay Muslim areas.
On the contrary, the 78-year-old cleric did stress that Islam does not prohibit cooperation with non-Muslim communities that are fair and not extreme while reiterating PAS’s stance to strengthen Malay-Muslim unity with pluralistic communities.
“The PH government’s move to place DAP in the Cabinet in a position that facilitates the implementation of its political agenda to conquer this homeland marks a situation that challenges the position of Malay Muslims in its own homeland,” he further lamented.

Deceptive stance
Hadi went on to reveal that PAS was supportive of Barisan Nasional (BN) in the recent Johor state election without demanding any seats in return in order to prevent PH and DAP from seizing control of the state.
“PAS doesn’t need any prize seats from Johor. What is most hoped for is the fostering of Malay-Muslim unity to lead the country alongside non-Muslims who aren’t extremists,” he explained.
Interestingly, so-called PAS haters swamped Hadi’s post with many disputed PAS’ sudden change of stance on both UMNO and DAP.
“In the past, you accused UMNO as kafir (infidel) for having brought about a colonial constitution while urging your supporters to vote for friendly DAP,” recounted a commenter.
“Various arguments and verses to legalise your intention and to obtain power. The rakyat need to reject PAS which is misleading Muslims!”

This was when one learned commenter schooled the PAS supremo that Islam does not belong to any political party while Islamophobia should not be used as a label for parties with different political views.
“Accusing PH of spreading Islamophobia is a serious allegation and requires clear evidence. Differences of opinion on a party’s policies or stance don’t mean hatred of Islam,” justified the self-proclaimed police officer.
In fact, the Federal Constitution continues to place Islam as the religion of the Federation under the unity government.
The institution of the Malay rulers remains upheld, the position of the Malay language as the national language has not changed while the special rights of the Malays and Bumiputeras as enshrined in Article 153 also remain preserved.
The Quran itself reminds Muslims to be fair and not let hatred of a race lead to injustice. Therefore, political differences should not be interpreted as hostility towards religion.
One commenter even took a pot shot at the PAS supremo for “being able to go places to campaign but rarely make it to Parliament”.
“Simply drawing gaji buta (getting paid for doing nothing) by riding on the unity of the ummah,’ he jibed.

At the end of the day, another sought Allah’s blessing “to continue protecting the Madani PMX from political adversaries who’re dividing Muslims and Malaysians alike”.
“O Allah, save our Malaysia from PAS-PN (Perikatan Nasional),” he prayed. – July 17, 2026
