DAP chastised for lacking sportsmanship, esprit de coup by letting Malay PH comrades take rap

THE rightist fraternity has hit out at DAP for leaving its fellow Malay allies in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition to face the music in the aftermath of the yet-again drabbing by Barisan Nasional (BN) in last weekend’s (Aug 1) Negeri Sembilan (N9) state election.

Apparently, PH election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari had earlier been mocked by UMNO loyalists for his remark that the N9 state polls which unveiled the BN-PN (Barisan Nasional -Perikatan Nasional) pact had displayed an extraordinary racist campaign which was capable of sowing elements of division in society.

In the PKR vice-president and Selangor Menteri Besar’s contention during his media conference soon after PH conceded its defeat to BN, “PH lost in the N9 state polls not because of the ‘deep blue wave, but because of identity-based racial politics‼️ 😔”

Amirudin who is also the PKR election was joint at the media conference by former Negeri Sembilan MB Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, Amanah’s communications director Khalid Abdul Samad, PKR’s communications director Adam Adli Abd Halim and Amanah election director/Hulu Langat MP Mohd Sany Hamzan.

But once the dust has settled coupled with the very fact that PH has to bite the bullet for a second successive defeat so soon after the July 11 Johor trouncing, some apparent rightists started to train their guns on DAP for being MIA (missing in action) in the deemed disgraceful appearance before the media.

“In time of winning, Malays, Chinese and Indians sit in the front row raising their arms to showcase their victory,” jibed Threader Muaz Aziz (@muaz_aziz88) in a recent post.

“In time of defeat, only the Malays have to field questions from the journalists. So pitiful.”

Deeming the occasion as an honour nobody wanted, fellow Threader Frogman Fly (@frogmanfly) took a pot shot at the missing esprit de coup in PH.

“DAP doesn’t need to show its face. Just send its pet dogs to offer excuses for the defeat. How pathetic you are. 😏” snubbed the presumably BN-PN supporter. “The N9 folks have indeed made the right choice. 😏”

Another Threader Norhafiszi (@mrkerang) laughed off the excuse of “BN/PN/PAS won because of racial politics” by equating it to the very the embarrassing fact that PH has failed to come together as a harmonious/collective voice.

“PH wins the politics of harmony❌!” he trolled. “Have we forgotten that (DAP secretary-general) Anthony Loke (Siew Fook) himself lost to a Chinese opponent? Don’t tell me the Chinese also hate Loke!”

Saving the most meaningful post for the last, it was surmised that Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Mohd Nor was right to point out that “the Malays only have Tanah Melayu.

“Many people say that when PH lost, only the Malays were made scapegoats at the media conference on Saturday night (Aug 1). Not a single DAP leader even though they won many seats (nine out of 11 won by PH),” rued Shauqi Johara (@shauqi_jo).

“So, it’s true that Malays have Tamah Melayu, Chinese have China, Indians have India? Mind you, we’re only talking about losing an election here, not even fighting a war yet”. – Aug 3, 2026
