TODAY is a day of shame and national embarrassment.
Incarcerated former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak got the house arrest he has been applying for.
This is a perversion of our justice system, our Federal Constitution and the rule of law.
There is no provision in the Federal Constitution for house arrest.
Will this help the people of Malaysia? Or will it harm us? Do the decision-makers care?
Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh should resign. Whether for being part of the decision-making body or in protest against the decision.
What should the DAP do?
The honourable thing is to pull out of the Madani government. But if it does that, the government of the day will collapse and fresh elections will be called. Given the current conditions, Barisan Nasional (BN) and PAS will almost assuredly win.
So, the DAP is caught.
But we the rakyat are the most caught. We suffer untold shame and embarrassment. So much of our money was spent to put that culprit in jail and now he is coming out to the comfort of his own home. And this is not even the rakyat‘s decision!
I would like to ask:
Since DAP’s Gobind Singh, a lawyer no less, was quick to raise a query about PM8 Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s DNAA (discharge not amounting to acquittal) a few days ago, is he also going to speak up on this issue of Najib’s house arrest?
After all, isn’t Najib getting house arrest a red line that DAP said before that it would not cross?
