BOTH his personal confession and three-month suspension from party activities have failed to quell the khalwat (close proximity) arrest of BERSAMA co-leader Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad from being talk of the town but only to spark more curiosity into his extramarital affair.

Taking the cue from Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) chairman Datuk Salehuddin Saidin that JAIS had acted on an official complaint and in accordance with the law, the detailed evidence gathering has set tongues wagging – notably systematic tracking of the former PKR vice-president and his so-called partner – by the person who lodged the report.
“The SPY who snooped on Nik Nazmi is really thorough. How many thousands does it cost to hire him to spy on one’s partner,” opined Threader Cempaka Helena (@_cempakahelena9) who shared the viral roll of 72 images of the duo’s movement backdated to May this year.

“Could it be Nik Nazmi’s wife or the woman’s husband who hired the SPY rather than a political opponent? 🤣🤣How can we know for everyone has been fooled by Nazmi’s innocent face? 🤪🤪🤪”
Editor’s Note: Based on various media sources, Nik Nazmi, 44, was married to Dr Imaan Abdul Rahim on August 7, 2005 with the couple having one son. However, they officially divorced by ‘talak satu’ (no room for reconciliation) at the Kuala Lumpur Syariah High Court on July 1, 2019.
He later married Noor Farah Rahim in January 2021.
A similar sentiment was echoed by tech enthusiast Mat Dev (@matdev123) who called on BERSAMA backers to refrain from speculating that the former natural resources and environmental sustainability minister “has been victimised or trapped”.
“Either the ex-minister’s wife or the husband of the scandalous woman who could have hired the private investigator,” suspected the self-proclaimed “politically unbiased” influencer.

“Most importantly. Tamarind Square (a commercial hub in Cyberjaya) is their favourite spot. Has anyone ever come across them?”
‘Character assassination’
The fascination with who actually spilled the beans aside, one sam hashim (@abufaris5369) insinuated the need for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to step into the picture.
“The khalwat issue is one thing, the issue of money belonging to the rakyat is another,” asserted the Threader.

“If the foundation associated with the woman has ever received funds, contracts or appointments during Nik Nazmi’s time as minister, open all records. Let them be thoroughly investigated.”
As members of BERSAMA are somehow forced into re-assessing the quality of the five-month-old party’s leadership, one loyalist claimed that “the real target” is BERSAMA’s co-leader #1 Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.
“But it’s a bit difficult to target Rafizi. Because his schedule is very tight. Moreover, Rafizi is not a kaki lepak (loiterer) and not easily be close to someone,” insisted one Abu Bakar Az-Zubaidiy (@abu_bakar_azzubaidiy).

“So, the negligence, carelessness and weak points of Nik Nazmi are being exploited.”
Elsewhere, the Threader is a staunch believer that the former Setiawangsa MP has been set up given “BERSAMA’s rising influence has made the party a force to be reckoned with”.
“Therefore, ‘character assassination’ needs to be carried out immediately to curb the influence of BERSAMA,” he deduced. – Oct 19, 2026
