A wholly-owned unit of Serba Dinamik Holding Bhd has accepted a letter of award (LOA) to build a data centre for US$350 mil (RM1.47 bil).
Serba Dinamik International Ltd (SDIL) accepted the LOA yesterday from Future Digital Data Systems LLC (FDDS) and the project would be built in Mussaffah, Abu Dhabi, the group said in a bourse filing today.
“The project forms part of FDDS’s initiatives to develop a series of data centres across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region that will support the activities in Abu Dhabi and also provide services to the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to address the growing need in the market due to the emergence of cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT) and big data analytics.
“FDDS intends to build a new data centre that can host mission-critical systems and provide co-location services, business continuity and managed services facilities to local and international organisations,” said Serba Dinamik.
The project’s work scope includes the appointment of specialist consultants and contractors to undertake the management, design, procurement, construction and completion segments of the project, Serba Dinamik said.
“The award is conditional on finalisation and execution of contract documents and both parties agreeing to the effective date of the works, Sept 1, 2020.
“The company shall complete the works within 1,460 days,” the group said.
Serba Dinamik’s shares trended 7.32% higher after the midday break at RM1.76. – Aug 6, 2020
