THE Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) is now joining hands with e-hailing service provider, Gojo, in a move to rejuvenate the tourism industry.
“The strategic partnership signifies our commitment to expand our members’ businesses opportunities in the tourism industry, including transportation.
“Our aim is to leverage the use of technology, using the e-hailing platform, to enable our transport operators to enlist their available fleet of vehicles on the Gojo app,” said Matta’s land transportation vice president K Subramaniam, in a statement.
He also said that the cooperation would help promote tourism, inbound and domestic sectors through networking, marketing and promotion activities, which would help their businesses during tough times.
“The transport operators are well-trained and experienced enough to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers, and the vehicles are well equipped with features on par with other vehicles.
“Our vehicles also provide advantages in terms of having a large capacity and are in a good condition to travel overland between the states,” Subramanian added.
Echoing Subramaniam’s sentiments, Gojo Transport App chief operating officer SBS Pradeep Kumar said their partnership with Matta would connect thousands of tourism vehicles with e-hailing jobs.
“The partnership symbolises our commitment to help jumpstart the recovery of our vibrant domestic tourism, through our proprietary technology – Intercity, that offers on-demand, empty vehicle seats in long distance trips at affordable prices,” he said.
Both Matta and Gojo signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Dec 10 to cement the deal. – Dec 14, 2020
