ESTABLISHED in 2015, the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (CIIF) is a professional body for qualified practitioners in the Islamic finance industry.
Its primary mandate is to set standards for professional education and qualifications in Islamic finance for its members, and to regulate its members through the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
CIIF today launched its flagship programme called the Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance (CPIF).
A project almost three years in the making, the CPIF qualification marks an important milestone for the CIIF in its continuing efforts to elevate the stature of the Islamic finance profession in Malaysia.
The CPIF provides a comprehensive qualification for industry professionals in the Islamic banking and Takaful sectors and for those who aspire to be Islamic finance professionals aiming to break into the industry.

The programme will cover a wide range of subjects such as Shariah, Structuring Products, Enterprise Risk Management, Strategic Management, Legal and Governance as well as Audit and Compliance among others.
“A unique element of this journey in becoming an Islamic finance professional through the CPIF is that by joining this programme, you will also be welcomed as a member of the institute,” CIIF’s CEO Azura Othman pointed out at CPIF’s virtual launch.
“As a member of the institute, you will be able to constantly update your knowledge through our various Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes where you will be guided by our professional standards, including the Code of Ethics, in fulfilling your duties as a principled Islamic finance professional.”
Additionally, the programme is developed in collaboration with industry experts and leading academics to provide a comprehensive qualification for professionals in Islamic banking and takaful (Islamic bond), the well-rounded programme will eventually be made available for Islamic finance practitioners globally. – Jan 6, 2021
