FORMER law minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has been tested positive for COVID-19, after it was believed that he contracted the coronavirus from a press conference attended recently.
The Padang Rengas MP has been admitted to the Raja Perempuan Zainab Hospital in Kota Bharu, Kelantan yesterday for observation and treatment.
Last week, Nazri and fellow Umno lawmaker, Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman held a press conference at the Putra World Trade Centre to criticise the Emergency proclamation.
Pro Umno blogger Zaharin Mohd Yasin, who attended the event, announced on Jan 14 that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
Nazri is among the latest political bigwig who have contracted COVID-19 to date. Last week, ministers Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Datuk Seri Rina Harun, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin and deputy minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin got themselves admitted for contracting the coronavirus.
Veteran Umno MP, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah is also reported to be receiving treatment for COVID-19.
On related matter, former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wished Nazri a speedy recovery in a post on Facebook.
