COVID-19 registration: A hotline dedicated to vulnerable groups

THE Office of Parliament P105 Petaling Jaya will be launching the ‘HOTLINE’ FOR COVID-19 REGISTRATION Petaling Jaya today.

This campaign – the second stage of the Vaccine Outreach Programme under the Office of Parliament Petaling Jaya which started since March – will especially cater to the vulnerable groups that are left behind such as old folks, people with disabilities (PwD) and those who has no access to smartphones and the internet.

The provided initiative and service is based on observed need for these vulnerable groups to register for their vaccination easily and faster, according to the Office of Parliament Petaling Jaya.

The outreach to get more people to register through MySejahtera Application and the official website has been slow and do not cater thoroughly to those who has problems with online registration. Hence, this has indirectly left the vulnerables out of the registration and vaccination process.

“Our staff and volunteers have opened up vaccination registration counters at the three ADUN areas in Petaling Jaya,” noted the Office of Parliament Petaling Jaya.

In this second stage campaign, the Office of Parliament Petaling Jaya aims to get as many individuals as possible to be registered for the COVID-19 vaccination.

In addition, through this Hotline registration, the Office of Parliament Petaling Jaya pointed out that it will contribute towards the reduction of the infection risks among vulnerable groups such as old folks and people with illnesses as they won’t have to leave their houses to register themselves.

“This will also eventually increase the number of registered individuals under these groups,” it added.

There are four major services provided by this Hotline::

  • To assist to register for COVID-19 vaccination;
  • To help check vaccination appointment date;
  • To answer any questions related to the vaccines; and
