COVID-19: Death toll remains at three digits, over 1K in ICU

MALAYSIA recorded a daily infection rate of 17,170 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 1,078,646.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 12,930 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 890,742.

“174 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 8,725,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 7,163, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,138), Kedah (1,212) and Johor (1,054).

“Of the current active cases, 1,043 patients are still receiving treatment in intensive care units (ICUs), with 531 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 29, 2021
