COVID-19: Death tally passes 25k mark, new cases continue to fall

Earlier today, Health Ministry’s CovidNow website indicated 228 deaths for yesterday, bringing total fatality to 25,159.

“Of the current active cases, 1,070 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 598 of them in need of ventilator support,” the site indicated.

As of yesterday, COVID-19 cases in the country dropped again as the authorities detected 13,899 infections, bringing the cumulative total to 2,185,131.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 18,074 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 1,968,541.

Sarawak recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 2,712, followed by Selangor (2,341), Johor (1,377) and Kelantan (1,170). – Sept 26, 2021.
