DELIVERY of Perodua vehicles continues to rebound for the third consecutive month by 102% to 14,160 units in September from 6,988 units in August as the supply situation gradually improves.
This comes on the back of improvement on the automotive supply chain although full potential has yet to be reached, according to Perodua President and CEO Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
“We are continuously working with our suppliers and dealers to further improve productivity and safety,” he pointed out.

Zainal noted that the second national carmaker is keeping with strict quality control measures throughout its operations to ensure customer satisfaction amid the gradual growth in both production and sales.
On a year-to-date perspective, Perodua sold 119,093 vehicles between January and September 2021 compared with 145,012 in the same period of 2020.
In comparing the second quarter of the year to the third quarter, sales plummeted by 44.6% to 21,803 units between July and September from 39,381 vehicles registered between April and June this year.
The second national lockdown began on June 1 and was lifted in stages beginning Aug 16.
“4Q 2021 does offer a better outlook than the previous two quarters, especially the marked improvement in the reduction of COVID-19 cases nationwide as well as the nearly 90% vaccination rate of the Malaysian adult population,” projected Zainal.
“We do apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delay in the delivery and we will assist our customers in any way that we can to ensure that their Perodua is delivered as soon as possible.” – Oct 4, 2021
