Sajat migrates to Australia, netizens hail the never-say-die attitude

NETIZENS are hailing cosmetics entrepreneur Nur Sajat’s fighting spirit, dedication, never-say-die attitude and life values.

This is following the 36-year-old businesswoman’s earlier announcement that she has been granted permanent resident status in Australia where she plans to restart her business.

Sajat, a transperson, acknowledged that she was leaving her family, property and business behind and that she cannot be happy in Malaysia.

“Now that I’m free, I can carry on with my life. Money can be earned but happiness can’t be bought. For me, I’m happy being in a country that accepts who I am, and that’s what I really want.

“Over there (in Malaysia) I wasn’t happy, and because I still have respect, I chose to leave. I just want to find freedom, that’s all,” Sajat told her followers through an Instagram live session on Monday (Oct 18).

A check on social media showed a flurry of support for Sajat, whose real name is Muhammad Sajjad Kamarulzzaman, with netizens urging her to soldier on and not give up.

“Take care of yourself and be careful. I know you are a good person…please remember your parents and insya Allah God is watching you,” said user Shidah Omar on Sajat’s Facebook page.

User Erica James echoed Shidah’s sentiment, adding: “All the best in life. Live the best of your life over there [in Australia] where you can be yourself without anyone [judging you].”

User Rayme Lala pointed out that the decision to migrate to Australia was a good move on Sajat’s part with hopes that her business will thrive in the new environment.

User Ina Dodot further went on to defend the decisions that Sajat has made, asking other netizens to stop minding other people’s businesses.

“Sajat’s parents gave her life, and they chose to remain silent and not comment and kepoh. If you think she has sinned, let Sajat herself bear the burdens of her sins. Why are there so many out there who wants to be God’s employees who judge and point fingers at Sajat?

“Enough of this nonsense. Let Sajat decide what is best for her. There is no need to be busybodies,” said the user.

The entrepreneur is currently wanted in Malaysia by the religious authorities for a blasphemy charge for being a ‘cross dresser’.

Prior to that, she was on the run for months and was sighted in Thailand where she was arrested for immigration offences.

Following the announcement of her move to Australia, Sajat further declared on her Instagram account that she has ‘divorced’ Malaysia for good and is never coming back. – Oct 20, 2021
