KPJ Healthcare capex will be up to RM300 mil this year

KUALA LUMPUR: KPJ Healthcare Bhd (KPJ Healthcare) will be allocating between RM200 mil and RM300 mil for capital expenditure (capex) this year to expand its business operations.

President and managing director Datuk Amiruddin Abdul Satar said the capex would be used for the construction of a new hospital and purchase of new equipment.

“We still have incomplete projects which will be continued in 2020, so we need to spend for them.

“By the third quarter of this year, we will launch a new big hospital in the Klang Valley under the KPJ brand that is almost nearing completion … we are waiting for the certificate of completion and compliance (CCC) and the licence as well as recruiting the staff and doctors,” he told reporters after the launch of KPJ Tawakkal KL’s rebranding exercise here today.

Amiruddin said KPJ Healthcare is also looking to relocate its KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital into a bigger, modern and better-looking hospital within two to three months.

“KPJ Healthcare has been operating in 28 hospitals nationwide, and the latest openings last year were KPJ Bandar Datuk Onn, Johor Bahru, KPJ Batu Pahat and KPJ Miri, Sarawak.

“Meanwhile, KPJ Ampang Puteri has been operating in a new building for the past two weeks,” he added. – Jan 10, 2020 Bernama
