COVID-19: 5,713 new cases on Nov 4, 5,865 recoveries

MALAYSIA has logged 5,793 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday (Nov 4), an increase from the previous day’s 5,291 cases.

This brings the cumulative number of infections to 2,492,343.

In a statement, Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham said that of the new COVID-19 cases, 98.4% were mild and asymptomatic infections in Categories one and two, while the rest were from Categories three, four and five.

Category three refers to patients with pneumonia, Category four needs oxygen assistance and Category five requires respiratory assistance.

Meanwhile, according to the CovidNow website, 5,865 patients have recovered, bringing the total to 2,396,244.

There were 64 deaths, thus bringing the death tally to 29,155.

Of the current cases, 555 cases required treatment in intensive care units (ICU) and 280 cases needed respiratory assistance. – Nov 5, 2021
