COVID-19: Over 200 in ICU as the nation records 3,251 infections

EARLIER today, Health Ministry’s CovidNow website indicated 13 deaths for yesterday, bringing total fatality to 31,655. 

“Of the current active cases, 253 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 138 of them in need of ventilator support,” the site indicated. 

As of yesterday, Malaysia recorded 3,251 infections, bringing the cumulative total to 2,772,485.  

In a tweet, the Health Ministry also announced that 3,161 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 2,711,900.  

Terengganu recorded the highest death toll with 19 deaths, followed by Perak (11), Pahang (11) and Kelantan (9). – Jan 9, 2022
