Malaysia’s new COVID-19 cases closing in to 5,000 again

MALAYSIA recorded 4,776 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday (Jan 29), with 373 of them being imported cases.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country since the pandemic started now stands at 2,855,930.

The site also showed that 3,285 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, with a total of 2,773,948 patients discharged since the COVID-19 outbreak began.

There were also 12 fatalities recorded with one patient brought in dead (BID), bringing the death toll to 31,952.

Meanwhile, the total number of active cases in the country is now at 50,030, with 86.2% of them (43,145) are being subjected to home quarantine.

Additionally, 127 people are being treated in intensive care units (ICUs), with 70 of them in need of ventilator support. – Jan 29, 2022
