“So, PAS is corruption-friendly?”: Khairuddin mocked over bizarre claims

WITH the Johor state election looming, PAS leaders have upped the ante against their adversaries, especially Pakatan Harapan.

In a report by Sinar Harian two days ago, PAS Syura Council secretary Datuk Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali accused Pakatan of “not being Islam friendly” and was filled with “evangelists”.

“Pakatan leaders seem like Islamists but they are liberals in reality. They have the post-Islamism mindset without considering grassroots Muslim movements.

“However, PAS’ direction is very clear on this and this is where we clash with Pakatan,” the Kuala Nerus MP was reported as saying.

However, netizens were unimpressed with his assertions and mocked the former minister instead.

Liberals tak boleh tetapi sokong rasuah berleluasa boleh pulak,” said user David Tan.

(You can’t be liberals but can support rampant corruption)

Echoing Tan’s sentiments, user Aip Hanip Idaham added: “Jadi merompak ,menyamun ,Rasuah itu dasar PN BN PAS . Bodo namampus.”

(So supporting robbers and corrupt people is Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional and PAS’ policy. What a halfwit)

Netizen Potgas D Farris retorted: “Sudah jdi kambing hitam dalam parti pun masih menyalak kat PH.

(You have become PAS’ black sheep and yet barking at Pakatan)

It is to note that Khairuddin was dropped from the PAS supreme council by party president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang as the former was seen as pro-UMNO, under the Muafakat Nasional charter, as opposed to the latter who was pro-Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

Why fear the word liberal?

During his stint as plantation and commodities minister in Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s Cabinet, Khairuddin was accused of several COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) breaches, one involving a trip to Terengganu with a divorced lady entrepreneur.

Khairuddin also courted controversy when he called for the Government to redelineate electoral constituencies to allow more Malay majority seats to be created to protect the community’s rights.

On that note, user Sahul HM Al-Rawbari asked politicians on why they were demonising the liberals, when the word was used in the Rukunegara to promote national unity.

Apalah diharap kepada puak yang melatah dan meroyan tak tentu hala ketika membaca perkataan ‘liberal’ dalam Rukun Negara pada 2018, sedangkan ia dah disebut sejak 1970.”

(Why are these people getting triggered over the word liberal when it is stated in our Rukunegara since the 1970s?)

Netizen Rossly Mohd Noor remarked: “Sorry to say.. Dasar Pas lagi teruk.. memperkudakan Islam.. duk dlm Kerajaan pun takde apa yg baik pun utk Islam.. jadi pasu bunga!.

(Sorry to say but PAS’ policies are so bad. They ride on Islam but do nothing to help Muslims. They are better off being a flower pot)– Jan 31, 2022.
