MR Cheng is a jungle trekking pro, having conquered most of the peaks in peninsular of Malaysia.
Today he has just ascended to the top of Denai Tiga Puteri, a challenging yet exhilarating trail that is part of the 321.7 hectares Kota Damansara Community Forest Reserve.
He was here often as the trail was nearby to his residence at e-Sentral. Sweaty, mosquitoes bitten and very much tired from the trek, Mr Cheng has every reason to go home for a nice, refreshing bath.
As he jogged passed several trekkers, Mr Cheng pulled out his phone and engaged an app on it.
Surprisingly he was able to engage the air conditioning of his home even though he was quite a distance from it, and astoundingly in a jungle.
Even better, the air cons has already memorised the temperature of Mr Cheng’s liking and shall proceed to cool the home.
Not only that, each and every home appliance that has been integrated into his mobile app have been calibrated to energy saving, so he has no worries about them running.
Convenience on the go
Mr Cheng didn’t want to brag about it, but if he had a visitor right now at the doorstep of his unit at e-Sentral, he could issue a command to either open the door or sound the alert.
While he was playing with the app, a curious monkey climbed down a tree to watch him. Being a resident of e-Sentral, he is essentially carrying his home along with him wherever he goes in his pocket.
For a moment there he thought the monkey could steal his phone and hijack his home. It was a funny thought but implausible since a security code is required to access the master control.
As he made changes to his home from the jungle, several trekkers walked past him, very much exhausted from their arduous journey.
Mr Cheng wondered if they would return to a comfortable home that welcomes them with the right temperature, ambience and more.
