Abah trying to topple Ismail Sabri but never call him a “traitor”, Najib mocks

FORMER prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak took pots shots at fellow ex-prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin over claims that the latter was seeking support from opposition parties to regain his post.

“This guy is weird. While Muhyiddin openly claims to support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, he is going around discreetly to seek support to overthrow the latter.

“But when you call him a traitor, he gets fuming mad,” he said in a Facebook post.

On Thursday, Parti Pejuang Tanah Air chairperson Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad revealed that Muhyiddin has met him to secure support for the 15th General Election and urged the Langkawi MP to support him to become prime minister again.

However, Mahathir added that he had dismissed the Pagoh MP’s calls and referred to the latter as a backstabber.

“I didn’t know what to say to him. I stepped down from the prime minister’s post because of what Muhyiddin did. He backstabbed me. The person he backstabbed isn’t even dead yet,” Mahathir was reported as saying.

Earlier today, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claimed that Muhyiddin has met him several times as well but reiterated there were no talks of the latter being made prime minister again.

“Meeting has been going on for a long time, I cannot deny that. But there is no question about this decision of (Pakatan) coalition to support him; it does not arise,” the Port Dickson MP was reported as saying.

Utusan Malaysia also reported today of Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal as saying that Muhyiddin had approached him as well to secure a cooperation but was rejected as the Semporna MP still remembers the latter’s role in the infamous Sheraton Move.

All he wants is to become PM

On that note, Najib said that it was obvious that Muhyiddin is gunning for the top job again as the latter had quietly met Mahathir, Anwar and Shafie for support.

However, the Pekan MP mocked Muhyiddin’s attempt, given that all three of them were also attempting to become prime minister as well.

“So, who will become the prime minister if they all get together to form a pact? Surely, these people will stab one another in back again and political instability will follow suit.

“In any case, welcome back Pakatan Harapan 2.0,” Najib jested. – April 2, 2022
