Abang Bas’ laywer threatens lawsuit on netizens, celebrity for shaming him

NETIZENS better be careful because Abang Bas is coming back with a vengeance, and this time with a pro bono lawyer Datuk Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar.

According to a post on X by Berita Harian, the lawyer called for the netizens and celebrities who shamed Abang Bas to count their money as his family are now looking to take action against them.

However, the lawyer added that these individuals still have the opportunity to apologise to Abang Bas if they do not want to face any lawsuit.

Ahmad Zaharil explained that the family members are pursuing legal actions after being criticised by netizens due to the case that Abang Bas is involved in.

“Of course we have identified them. Many, the families ordered them (netizens) to be sued,” said the lawyer.

“Break whatever money box is available and count it ready so it will be easy to count later. During his detention, he was criticised without mercy,” he said when met after settling the bail of Abang Bas at the Muar Court Complex amounting to RM40,000.

Netizens, however, are unrelenting as seen in the comment section. According to z, the parents of the children whose faces were shown in the video on TikTok have the right to make a lawsuit too.

chem.mi stated that Abang Bas should take the lesson to heart not to make contents about little children anymore, adding that he had the cheek to lawyer up when his bail money came from donation.

Monkey D leybad said he had lost respect for the lawyer. Apparently, Ahmad Zaharil had in the past helped a single mother who stole for her child’s livelihood.

The child of the mother had then studied and become a lawyer due to the inspiration from him.

Although it is clear from examinations made in the previous news that Abang Bas is in the wrong, the beauty of the justice system is that the accused has every right to defend themselves.

Regardless, netizens should know better than to harass or shame the family members of the accused, being innocent bystanders.

We are by no means judges or police officers, but whistleblowers should the situation require it, and it is appropriate for us to remain so. – Sept 18, 2024
