GPS chairman and Sarawak premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is drawing support online for his comments that his grouping will continue to support the government headed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim until the next 16th General Election (GE16).
Netizens are saying the statement from the GPS chairman has doused the opposition’s talk of their attempts to overthrow Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as Prime Minister (PM).

(It seems that all talk of a collapsed unity government has disappeared, Tan Sri Hadi Awang and Din (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) and Det (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad) have to find more ideas on how to topple the government.
Since Anwar became PM, the opposition led by Perikatan Nasional (PN) and PAS launched an unrelenting campaign to topple the government.
They have failed on all their successive attempts since November 2022. The Pakatan Harapan (PH) win in Pulai and Simpang Jeram this month has also brought the change of government campaign to a halt.
Meanwhile, Abang Johari said the support is important to ensure stability that allows the Federal Government to administer with more focus.
“We give you (Anwar) full support and have a stable Federal Government until the next election,” he said while speaking at the National Level Malaysia Day 2023 Celebration Ceremony at the Perpaduan Stadium, in Kuching.
