Adham Baba: Not possible to falsify MySejahtera digital vaccination cert

SCIENCE, Technology and Innovation minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba has told the Dewan Rakyat that it is not possible for the digital COVID-19 vaccination certificate to be falsified as it is only issued through the MySejahtera application.

“The falsification of digital certificates cannot happen as it is only through MySejahtera and printouts are not accepted,” said the Tenggara MP during the question-and-answer session in Parliament on Sept 30.

According to the minister, police reports had previously been lodged against those who had been caught falsifying the digital certificates.

Adham was responding to Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan who had queried about the Government’s actions against anti-vaccine groups and falsified vaccine certificates, along with the status of the vaccination programme for adolescents.

He also pointed out that the Government is currently using advocacy actions to provide complete and accurate information about the COVID-19 vaccines in order to appeal to those who are against the vaccines.

On the topic of vaccinating adolescents, Adham reiterated that Pfizer remains the sole COVID-19 vaccine authorised for the age group.

As of 30 Sept, he said that 50% of adolescents in the country have received one dose of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, Adham is also optimistic that “almost all” adult population in the country will be fully vaccinated by the end of October 2021. – Sept 30, 2021
