He said it is important for the revision’s political survival, especially for the upcoming 16th General Election (GE16).
In addition, he also requested that the positions of President and Deputy President of UMNO, which were not contested in the previous party elections, be contested again in the upcoming elections.
“The Tenggara Division Representative Meeting has unanimously approved three motions. First, the positions of President and Deputy President of UMNO must be contested.
“Second, the party needs to fulfill its promise to release former UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Razak who is now in prison because of his many services to the country. Third, look back at the relationship between UMNO and DAP and PH,” he said to the media on Saturday.
Adham, who is also a former health minister, added that Southeast UMNO already has a strategic plan for the party’s machinery to face GE16 and the state election later.
He explained that the Southeast Parliament which has two constituencies, Pasir Raja and Panti, is a permanent deposit of UMNO every time an election is held. – July 14, 2024
