AEON Big (M) Sdn Bhd will be opening its 22nd store at Jaya One in Petaling Jaya on July 23.
It will have a net lettable area of 41,527 sq ft, which targets about 150 jobs.
This follows the company’s announcement that the Alor Setar High Court has stayed the execution of the judgement in default on June 9, which will allow the company’s Subang Jaya store to operate as usual.
The hearing to set aside the judgement in default for RM142 mil made against the company has been fixed to Aug 6.
Moving forward, the company said it will be focusing on preserving economic sustainability, protecting public health, and providing continuous employment.
“Despite experiencing a very challenging year due to Covid-19, the management has turned the company around to become profitable in the first half of 2020, compared to previous years since taking over the stores from Carrefour in 2012” said Aeon Big, which foresees the strong performance continuing through 2020 with the support of its staff, vendors, and suppliers. – July 16, 2020
