Aerodyne buys 60% stake in top US drone inspection firm

AERODYNE Group has announced the acquisition of a controlling 60% interest in the services business of Measure UAS Inc, one of the leading aerial intelligence companies in the US.

The Malaysian-headquartered international artificial intelligence (AI)-driven, drone-based solutions provider said a new business entity, Aerodyne Measure Inc, has been formed to serve enterprise clients in North America.

Aerodyne in a statement said the acquisition is part of its aggressive expansion strategy to become the No. 1 drone-based solution provider in the world.

According to founder and group CEO Kamarul A Muhamed, Measure UAS has established quality processes and a reputation for excellent customer service, giving the firm a strong foothold as it expands into the North American market.

“With the drone industry in a consolidation phase where companies which can deliver real value will come out on top, this partnership is a timely move to position us well for the next phase of growth,” he said.

Aerodyne Measure will provide premium, turnkey aerial inspections of infrastructure assets in the energy utilities, renewable energy, oil and gas sectors as well as roads, bridges and ports by leveraging on Aerodyne’s Vertikaliti solution suite, an end-to-end cloud-based asset management solution.

“By combining smart drones and AI, Vertikaliti seamlessly and effectively reinvents the way assets are managed and this solution has been proven to give clients significant performance improvement and cost optimisation,” it said.

Meanwhile, Aerodyne Measure CEO and co-founder Brandon Torres Declet said the firm would provide high-quality services to asset managers looking to outsource their drone operations.
